My partner sometimes comes home with snippets of flowers for me as he knows how much I love flowers and nature. This time round he comes home with a Pride of Madeira. It was so unique I have never seen a flower like it. The small purple flowers were so vibrant and pretty. We didn't even know what it was until we put the call out on social media. It is native to the island of Madeira and is much visited by bees and butterflies for its nectar. I have named this painting after the plant 'Pride of Madeira'. The colour palette was influenced by the bold purple tones of the flowers. Small floral elements are scattered throughout the artwork representing all the tiny beautiful flowers on this plant. Also energetic brushstrokes giving a sense of bees and butterflies moving freely over the plant happily searching for the nectar. I have included a work in progress photo in which you will see the flower and how I was inspired by it's unique beauty.

Pride of Madeira

  • Painted on heavy weight premium cotton and stretched.

The sides of the canvas have been painted and is a continuation of the painting, so that the image wraps around the edges.

The painting is finished with coats of gloss varnish which will protect the painting and also enhanced the vibrancy of the colours.

It comes ready to hang with a sturdy brass wire fitted across the back. Please see photo, if you would like it hung any other way please let me know.

The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.

  • Free shipping on original paintings!
Large original stretched paintings are packed very carefully in custom made sturdy cardboard boxes with layers of bubble wrap, they will come ready to hang on your wall. The canvas paper paintings are carefully rolled, wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap and mailed in a sturdy mailing tube.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: If you are outside of Australia your painting will be taken off its stretcher bars, carefully rolled, bubble wrapped and placed in a sturdy mailing tube for transit - this service is free. I do this for two reasons, firstly it is safer for a original painting to travel this way, heavy objects have been known to unfortunately damage a stretched canvas in long distance transit. Secondly, shipping large boxes overseas can be an eye boggling enormous cost, so the money that you save with free shipping will more than cover the cost of getting it re-stretched by your framer.

Please note that for international orders, any taxes and duties due upon delivery are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Also please understand that I will insure each artwork for the full price and cannot reduce the insurance price to suit your countries import tax laws.

All original artworks are shipped within 1-3 business days of purchase. You will receive a tracking number via email once your order has been shipped. Orders sent within Australia usually arrive within 10 days from the date of shipping. For international orders, please allow approximately 1-3 weeks for your original artwork to arrive.

Please email me if you have any other questions in regards to shipping.
